mexico bay 8/20 - 8/25
got to the big O on Tuesday morning, started setting rods at 10 am, reports on the radio was bite was slow, but we managed 3 for 3. Wednesday we went 5 for 11, Thursday 3 for 8, Friday 5 for 8, and Saturday morning 4 for 5. think we faired well weather conditions were great except Friday morning we never got on the water till around noon. fished 105-160 fow, riggers 80 -110, dipsys 270-330. overall we were 20 for 35. not a ton of fish in the bay yet but they will be there in another week or so. best producers were from the best all spin doctors, white with green dots, hammertime, nuclear pickle, carmel dolphin, best flies were, blue hammer fly, green hammer fly, green crinckle, and white . 15 fish cought on dipsys, and the other 5 off the riggers. 2.2 down speed on the fish hawk x4. biggest fish was 33.5 lbs, and another big one at 32.7 lbs. and 6 or 7 in the 25 pound range, the rest were 18-22 with one about 12 lbs. a couple of fish made a early run in the river as I saw a few dead floating ones in the salmon river.
