Walleyes, Saugers and SM 09/26/11

Post by Wallyandre (Andre) »

Today I went fishing with some friends on Lake St-Pierre (St-Lawrence river) about 1.15 min from Montreal going east.
They are walleyes, saugers,SM,LM,Musky,pike etc...

Today we were targetting walleyes, saugers and SM. We fish in the seaway for walleyes and saugers in 40ft deep, jigging with 1on. jig head. The current is about 2.5 to 3 MPH. Bottom is mostly rock. You got to be careful with the big ships because they don't change there course. Today we caught around 30 walleyes & saugers and we kept 12 (legal limit for our three. There is no slot limit for the saugers but there is one for the walleyes. To keep a walleye it should be between 14.5in and 21.
It's not rare to catch double and even triples.

Weather today was gorgeous with no wind.

Here some pics:

That's awesome, nothing like fishing with friends and getting a few tasty Walleye for dinner.

That sauger is neat-o!

Good to see the saugers, Andre! They are almost non-existant anymore in Champlain, unfortunately. Love the smallies too
