Yamaha 9.9 kicker
I have a 2004 9.9 kicker that was working fine when I put it storage in the fall, and now when I pulled it out of the garage and tried to start it with the remote control key nothing happens. Battery is 12.67 volts. I can jump the starter and it turns over but nothing from the control box at all not even a click from the electric choke. Any help would be appreciated! Replace the starter relay already.

I would check tether switch, neutral safety switch and there should be a fuse somewhere on the motor to start.also check to make sure mice didn’t chew through wires somewhere.

Checked all that does not seem to be the issue with chewed wires any way you know of to check the safety switch in the remote or to bypass and see if that is the issue before I sink a bunch of $$ into a simple problem?

I believe you have to jump the wires,so if you can figure out which wires go to the tether switch, disconnect the bullet connectors and plug the ones that go to the motor together.also check all ground wires on the motor, make sure they are clean and tight.

Have you tested the solenoid to see if it is getting power. I think the wire from the switch is yellow and red if I remember correctly. As others said check the kill switch teather.
Good luck
