Rare to get Randy out in the summer time with chores up at his camp in Lincoln where he is staying but a perfect day awaited us along with General Sturgeon and Wdnr (Dave) a three trio boat effort down south. Cloudy / calm / good temps air and water / very few fleas! Break was 40 feet in some places and 60 feet at others. 8 am start that lasted until 4 pm! 15 shorts / 7 legal salmon to 21" and 2 Bows one 18" and the other 22". A great day to be on the water! Tested my new Fish USA net as I retired the other two nets on the wall in the man cave. The bigger one is just used for Ontario. The tangle free net was amazing! Randy provided lunch and it just doesn't get any better for conditions today with Dave and Carl nearby fishing as well. We did get a little bit of fleas on the wire divers but the 30 lb Flea Flicker line by Blood run presented no fleas and honestly the 30 lb test didn't bother us at all with our light rods thru the smaller guides on our rigger rods. Rod action felt similar to the 12 lb test we normally run and felt there was no performance difference on our Agility / Heartland rods! I wouldn't hesitate to run this all year now on our rods! Orange / purple / black dots small spoons were the ticket today custom made by Chris Peacock and Don Marcelino! We just left the fish in the net in the water and took photos and flipped the net and the fish over with no handling. No net hooks caught and easy breezy! One tiny laker and 1 brown away from out 2nd slam in the last 10 days! I give this net an A+! Surface water was 67F a big drop from 77F 10 days ago!
