Datillos derby day #1

Post by Cardinal »

Got on the water around 430 got setup just before light. The salmon were pretty active doing there acrobatics. Mean gene and I were on the fish pretty much all day. We lost count of fish caught. All salmon and lakers combined. We think we were over 30 fish landed and a lot of misses and releases with nobody home. Colors of the day were pink, rainbow, purple. Was a mix of lures through the day.THis was my personal best day for number of fish caught aboard the cardinal. On any boat for that matter. It was a day to remember we had a blast, can't wait to see what day# 2 brings

Great work! I hope you had a excellent second day as well! :)
Could someone post complete results of the derby, for those of us who were not able to be in it?

Totals for both days we had to have been close to 60-70 fish landed, doubles and even a triple was a weekend to remember , we did weigh in 1 salmon Saturday it was 4.66, lakers were around the 5 lb range and smaller, the 9 pound laker Travis caught last weekend would have placed. Lampreys were abundance as well lost count on how many we killed off.
