Very nice Andre. When they are that big, you don't have to catch a lot to have a great day.

Some people knows how to fish for walleye on the St-Laurent river, some others know how to catch salmon on lake Champlain.
Congratulations

Great catch André,
I hope this is a sign the big ones are starting to be active.
With the snow we had today, it should cool down the water a little more.
If weather permits, I might go down on Saturday. See you on the water.

The 2 spoons (look at the siwash on the left)

If you put a UV light on that spoon and compare it next to one taped with
Chartreuse Holographic #60111 and
Bright Red Special Purpose #60261
You will not be able to tell the difference and the tape holds better than that paint !! The trick is to cut Charteuse in half lengthwise and the problem gonig over the hump is minimized.

Yup, would have to look at the scales under a microscope. Fish scales have rings just like a tree for each year of growth. Salmon that size in this system are most likely 6-7 years old and getting towards the end of their life cycle.
