Hit the water out of Converse today with Bill Crenshaw from Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife. Bill was my Junior wildlife sponcer back when I was a 12, he spent countless weekends over 2 years teaching me all about migratory bird hunting, and putting me in some of the best bird hunting anyone could ever ask for. I figure I owe him as many trips as I can talk him into. I spent much of Friday prepping Bill for the upcoming Frostbite Season, he is still not so sure but i figure just one trip when the bite is on and he will be hooked.
Fished the Bouquette Delta again in hopes of finding some silvers. The screen looked great withe bait and Fish. temp at 72 ff was 55. We saw quite a few salmon on the surface....... chaseing bait, swimmimg along and generaly creating a nusence! BIG SALMON! We tried everything we had from the surface to 70 ft down, only managed 4 cisco and a yellow perch.
We didnt have plainer boards or we would have tried them, also would had like to have a spinning riod to cast into the fish that were on the surface.
All the surface action was over deep water 100ft from the red can. wrapped it up at 1pm.
Good luck and let me know if any figures out how to get them to bite.
Yes you heard it from me....2 trips in a row in less than a week with no silvers!!!!

More like the big push up the river - those big salmon swirling are gonna go get their freak on for a while and then drop back to the lake.
Salmon, the other pink meat.

Yeah it happened a couple weeks ago got 1 of mine 3 of heijacs and 2 or 3 of blackbeards gas can. Must of been kids looking for gas they took no fishing equipment. Sad thing is they probably just threw the gas tanks away
