2) No tow line to sideswipe your rods on big circle turns!
3) No wind issues to send a release down a tow line
4) No need to store boards on your boat and masts infrastructure
5) Hear the drag go set lightly on inline boards.
6) Using the Offshore system with the rear OR-16 tab red release you can manually release the board on a small fish or changing a lure and it hangs down so your not pulling against the board to reel in to take off. Very quick process.
7) Once the board is off your fighting the fish the rest of the way
8) Easy to change lures or check lures for debris.
9) No reeling in a big board with a bunch of releases to take off if you want to move to another spot quickly or end of day.
10) Many charters in Ontario use these now except for when running copper or steel once the thermocline sets up for salmon with triple boards and a big crew.
11) Pretty cool watching them go backwards on a strike! Especially on a 5 lb plus salmon!
12) Inlines add more action to a presentation when small waves or bigger are present!
Big boards and Masts system are good for crews of 4 or more.
We use OR-12 with tattle flag to detect small fish or debris on lure when it's windy or waves. The TX-12 smaller Church board modified with a OR-16 red clip on the back like the Offshore to release the same way without dragging the board thru the water to remove it. Hangs down and reels in super easy. We use this smaller board if it's calm to 1 ft waves. The best way to attach to the side with 20 lb mono backing (Big Game Berkley line) to put a twist about 8 times and place the in the side release. Holds better and when wanting to check a lure or with a manual release on a small fish it comes out with a quick yank of the rod. I have had several people on my boat that swear on the big boards and mast system that are surprised how simple and easy this delivery system works in action (And have converted after)!
