Launch water depth

Post by 802steve »

Is there enough water depth at converse to launch?
If not where is a deep enough site?

Up 1.5" from last weeks rain. Still over a foot lower than average for this date. Haven't heard anyone getting stuck yet as of 2 days ago. We have been launching out of Arnolds for 2 months. No concerns there. I don't want to be pushing muck thru my engine saying yes you can launch there. LOL It's all about priories and options. Buyer Beware!

Westport is doable, but I would tilt up or use your trolling motor to go straight out, there is a spot just beyond the buoys where they stopped dredging where it is probably just a little over 2 feet deep.

Hi guys, I was just up this past few days. Ouch the lake is low. Do you think we will be able to launch for the frostbite derby? I left my boat at my son’s house by gore mt with hopes of coming back up to fish

I would Presently Recommend Ft Cassin in Big Otter.

Plenty of water Downside of Ramp, Close to Point Bay and Lots of Parking.

Other launch with water but further from Point Bay is Arnold bay with Very Limited Parking

Boats were in and out of Westport all day, including me, probably 30 inches of water in the shallow spots at the end of the channel, I checked with a pole

The launch at the Burlington Coast Guard station has plenty of water depth too.

Anyone been out of Port Henry launch?

I'm back from the summer house, doing fluid and filters this week, taking off striper gear and putting the down rigger on - see you in the near future

Used converse on Tuesday.
It Is shallow but usable as long as you keep away from
The big concrete mooring block straight out 15 yards from the dock.

Probably 16” of water
