Sodus Pt browns - Videos added on 2nd page

Post by Reelax »

Trailered boat and camper to sodus pt this week. Arrived with Esad and Joe for our spring brown hunt. Arrived at 10 and was on water trolling by 11am. Water little clear and 35-47 deg. Searched west for colored water and found none. Today we will look to the east.

Had some action while bbqing ribeyes a couple nice fish over the rail. On both stick baits and spoons. Esad landed the biggest small mouth I’ve ever seen. Had to be over 6lbs!!

Back out in 20min:)

Nice start on the big O. You going to have a blast catching browns in shallow waters.
Looking forward to your posts.

Day 2 was won by the monster Atlantics. And boy did they jump! Still in shallows and these came in spoons… They both hit right in front of Chimney Bluffs state park in 12-16 fow in the same spoon!

Tomorrow
Due to clear water we are moving out and trailering to fairhaven:)

More to come.

I cancelled my week to lake Ontario this spring, but looking at your pictures and reports, it almost like being there.
Matt and crew, enjoy your stay and keep those posts and pictures coming.

Finally headed home more browns today in front of fairhaven in 4’ that blew up at 11.

While smithwick sticks hit ok. Spoons ruled the trip for us. 2 flat calm days made bit rough to start. a location change and a little weather on day 3 and 4 got us a better hit rate as time went on. Browns were NOT in shallow water was too clear. We worked hard for every fish we brought over the rail. Never had doubles and had 6 hr waits between bites at times. These fish were caught with Perserverance that lasted right up till the 1pm drive home on day 4.

Day 2 was weird as we got 2 mammoth atlantics in the fish list, but no others while we were there…

4 days 3 nights. 32 hrs of trolling. And 12 hrs of driving. This crew was the hardest fishin boat load I’ve even gone west with!

The thanks guys for sharing the trip we will never forget!

Fish on!

Way to stick it out, guys, and put some beautiful fish in the boat! Also, good for you to not be afraid to put some time behind the windshield to find fish.

Not sure when I'll be heading out there, since the fishing around the Salmon River is pathetic right now.
