Sully and the Sea
I decided to stay north today and fish the Inland Sea instead of heading south with some other familiar boats. I had been in touch with young Sully the night before and he informed me his truck was acting up so I invited him aboard the Mistress as it had been at least 8 yrs since he fished with me and I infected him with the salmon bug. We launched at 7:30 to flat calm waters and set lines 300 yds from the ramp and trolled across the sandbar and across the original mouth of the Lamoille without even a twitch of a rod and the water was still only 37 degrees. Not liking what I was seeing I decided to pull lines and go check out Keelers. Per usual we set lines just south of Kibbe Pt and trolled into Keelers and followed the shoreline for two hours and zilch! Because we were only going to fish til noon and it was already 10:00 we decided to make a move and change a few things up and while doing so I told Sully I was going to call my lucky lady to get a bite going. After a 6 minute conversation I hung up and within FIVE MINUTES we scored or first salmon, a nice clean and healthy 23” fish. Sully is now a believer in my wife’s secret lucky powers:) There were no other boats around so I was not worried about the seagull affect and I turned around 180 and ran back over my 1/2 mile track and bam! Another healthy salmon, this one being 22”. We picked up another 18” and dropped 2 others all in a span of 45 minutes before it was time to pull up and head for the dock. Pink was the color of the day and the bite was deeper than you would think for this time of year. Another excellent day on the water and got a chance to show Sully a trick or two (I swear I saw him scratching his head a few times)

How fast do you troll the pins minnows? Bought a bunch never used them much because they don't seem too have action unless your hammering along pretty fast

For the Yozuris I run 2.7-3.2 m.p.h. and use nothing heavier than 12# mono and always TIED on, I never run clips because they do affect the performance on smaller lures both sticks and spoons. Hope this helps!
