Sounds like you have are seeing some weird stuff every since you saw that naked canadian dude om the sailboat the last time you were out with me...lolfishy1 wrote:9/29/2016 headed for cascade lakes early this morning only to get their and have a very strong wind. decided to hit another pond a little south that holds brookies and rainbows. started fishing around 8 am left my phone in the car since there was no service there. air temperature was 45 degrees with a north wind. set out 2 rods with sinkers since the bobber wasnt going to work with the wind. about 1 hour later or less i saw something splashing coming towards me. what i was about to see was a shock to say the least it was a girl swimming across the pond.60 fow and 45 degrees a girl is swimming. fished another hour or so and only 2 bites and missed them both.

9/30 2016 went to cascade lake this morning and started fishing at 6:50 am with air temperature 46 degrees and a south wind around 7 mph. fished a different spot this morning and a little deeper one with a bobber and the other with a sinker on bottom hoping not to get stuck. 7:15 am bobber down and fish on land a 9 inch brookie. then a few minutes later the rod on bottom took off and fish on landed another 9 inch brookie. then at 8 am bobber down again and a miss. threw it back out and bobber was skipping across the top heading for shore. started reeling the slack very quickly caught up with it and fish on a nice 10 inch brookie. then until 10 am no more bites when my bottom rod took off wildly at a real fast pace. closed the bail and fish on a good one only to shake loose seconds later. pulled in my bobber rod and casted it out as far as i could in 60 fow and let it drift with the wind wasnt long bobber started skipping across the surface and fish on i land a nice 10 inch brookie. from 10:15 am to noon when i left to go home landed 4 more brookies out in the 60 fow with the bobber. kept my limit of 5 brookies for the frying pan. not a great day on cascade lake but still a fun one. did not get stuck and noone swimming.

10/2/2016 fished cascades lake this morning and got a late start. started fishing at 8:20 am with one bobber and on sinker rods. walking down the road i noticed trout surfacing so took a quick look down and the bank was very steep there but room for 2 rods at the bottom between cedar trees. made my way down slowly and the trout were still surfacing. five minutes and bobber down fish on. land a nice 11 inch brookie. from that time on until i left landed 12 nice brookies and missed several. air temperature was 56 degrees with light winds and 30 fow. i left at 11 am to do some fall turkey hunting which opening day was oct. 1st. no luck there saw some small hens but didnt shoot .

Very fickle it seems. I'm going to go trout fish some ponds or streams before they close with the kid ....... Hopefully they will stick to the surface and make things entertaining for him.

Re: fishing update trout ponds 2016
10/4/2016 went back to cascade lake today to try for some trout again. started fishing at approx. 7 am with 2 bobber rods since i get stuck alot in this spot. forgot my phone at home so didnt have the phone with me so after about an hour with no bites bobber down and i land a nice brookie which also crossed my other line and landed that also. took a pic of the bobbers on the lake where they were pretty close to the middle in 40 fow. when i was reeling in the other rods line that was tangled around the fish after un hooking it another brookie slammed this one while i was reeling it in. two brookies in five minutes both almost identical in size and feisty ones at that. then sometime later bobber down and i land my 3rd brookie approx 10 inches and released this one. landed 1 more before leaving for some turkey hunting it was 10 :20 am when i got to the car. kept 2 brookies since they were badly hooked and released 2.
here is a pic of my bobbers out on the cascade lake to start the morning.

10/5/2016 went back up to cascade lake this morning for some more trout action. fished today in the deepest part of upper cascade with bobbers. started fishing at 7:10 am with a light north wind . 7:40 am bobber down and a miss. 8 am bobber down and i land a nice 13 inch brookie. 8:10 am bobber down and i land a 9 inch brookie. that was it for the morning left at 9:45 am with only 1 more bite. if i go back in the morning there im going to try spin casting since it holds lakers and browns also. to warm to go back in the trout ponds and its going to be even warmer the next 2 days. went turkey hunting with no luck although i did see a nice group but coudnt get a good shot and one of the bigger hens so i passed.

10/9/2016 decided to bushwhack into a trout pond since it was cooler this morning and had a great day. started fishing at 7:20 am after the 1/2 hour hike . set one rod with a bobber and one with a sinker. wasnt long i took the sinker off due to the little pesky bullhead in there. within 15 minutes both bobbers down and fish on landed 2 brookies. from then until 11 am when i left i landed 27 brookies and missed at least 10 . i even got 3 or 4 after missing and reeling in my line. it was a non stop day being cloudy and in the 50,s. brookies were surfacing all morning. kept 4 badly hooked ones including a 14 incher and a 13 and 1/2 incher both males. the 4 brookies i kept were chucked full of minnows.
here is a 14 inch male
