Lowrance Auto Pilot

Post by jim »

I have to say i love my new Auto Pilot... Don't know how i ever fished without one.
I setup routes that follow the edges around all the area's a bit north and south past westport and around converse. Following between 80-140 ft some places deeper with big drop offs.
Point at the route, say reverse or forward and let her go... only jump in when getting too close to other boats. Seems to do a great job even into the wind.
One thing that is driving me crazy. I have two lowrance units in the boat. The one with the chart i have Nav up and Auto Pilot controls in split windows. The other sonar/split window with sonar zoomed in on one window. Problem is every time i hit a way point an auto pilot popup shows up on the 2nd unit. It does on the top unit as well if i don't split widow with a dedicated auto pilot frame. I have to exit out of the window on the 2nd unit so it doesn't block the sonar screen every time i hit a way point.
Anyone know a way to stop this?

If you don't share sonar on both unit in the Menu try to uncheck Network.
There is also the Local & Global settings try both on Local

Thanks I'll give it a shot next time I'm out. I share the sonar off the main HDS gen3 to the gen 2 in the dash so i think i have to have network on for at least one of them. I picked up an Airmar TM150 and have it set to 105hz. I tried chirp but 105 seems to work much better. It was amazing how clear it was compared to the lowrance transducer.
I'll have to look into the menus for the global setting. I think i saw it once but could not find it on the water.

Hopefully I'll be out Sat and try again.

?? Bigger boat, Best Lowrance, temp torpedo, outriggers, thirty different lures per day and NOW auto pilot? When does fishing get back to basics and how do wives tolerate the expensive list of new toys??

Yes you need the Sonar Network enable (check). If I got time tomorrow I will look on mine for the AP enabling or not active. I.ll post the answer sometimes this week.

I also run a TM-150 but I use Medium CHIRP and it's incredible how good it is!

I have heard ice fishermen say the same thing about Vexilars, until they bought one, then they said,"why did I wait so long"
