Block Island Stripers

Soaked some clams in the surf last week while the kids were swimming at the beach on the east side of the island and averaged about 1 striper every half our - on two afternoons, middle of the day. The fish ranged from 26" to 36", a lot of fun on a 10' rod. One of the fish had a tag but it was covered with growth and was unreadable when I cleaned it off. The helpful and enthusiastic guy running the bait shop said tagged stripers are pretty common in the area, still would have loved to know where it came from. I kept one and it fed six of us, with meat to spare.
