Is there an LCI derby this year?

Judging from the states website, it doesn't look like there is an LCI for 2012?

Will you be at Yankee Classic next weekend? If so you should stop in, say hi, and we'll get you all the details.

Ken,
Just noticed I had the dates wrong for the Yankee Classic...It's the 20th - 22nd, NOT next weekend. Sorry for the confusion. My mistake.

Unfortunately, we have, in fact, canceled the ice derby for this year. A number of factors played into this, including ice conditions, irresolvable liability issues, scheduling conflicts for the boat access, sponsorships, and a few other cards that didn’t fall into place.
We are still committed to establishing an ice event on, or near, Champlain. The pieces didn’t fit for this year, so instead of moving ahead with a derby that may or may not have lived up to the expectations people have of LCI events, we have postponed until we can present what we feel lives up to our standards.
Thanks for our understanding. And thank you, Gus, for posting the event dates.
