Wile E. Dead Coyote

Post by MarknFish (Mark) »

The local pack has been getting REALLY brave around the house lately. I've seen them numerous times real close to the house even with all three of my labs outside. 0800 this morning while working at my computer I looked up to see this female 30ft off the back porch.

My wife was snapping pictures while my dogs went ballistic.

Ran upstairs and grabbed the .270 and 2 150gr ppt's, slid the door open a little and said plug your ears. She started to run off when she heard the door slide open, but took about 5 steps and stopped for a look back. She now resides buried in the farm compost pile with some calves she probably had a hand in killing.

It would appear that your .270 is an effective tool for coyote population control. Nice shot !

That is some good shootin'! I wonder what she was sniffin for around your house. I'm surprised with your dogs barking she didn't run. Young and dumb maybe. I went calling during the last full moon and no luck yet but we did some how call in a deer, go figure with the screamin bunny call no less. I have a lone coyote that has made my food plot part of his territory he proves me this as he urinates often around it and I have some good pics of him/her. I have not been able to call him as of yet, but reall soon I hope!
