My old Honda 4s runs great, but due to the flexible throttle linkage rod I'm having a tough time getting that "just right" speed between idle and too fast and keeping it there. I just found an open box deal on eBay for a new trollmaster that will fit this kicker. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who may be using one and whether or not you've been happy with it. What year is you're Honda?

The reason why I ask is because it's very difficult to install and I should say very complicated.

Andre, it's OLD! It's an '81 with a carb on the port side and CDI. But it runs like new. It's the same block that became the 8hp "classic," but mine has the 7.5 hp carburetor/cam. The install should be the same as any similar displacement 2 cylinder up to 2009.

I did see something about having to very specifically bend a rod from the servo to the carb throttle. Is this a huge PITA? Thanks for the feedback!

They're pretty much the same as far as the CDI housing and carb linkage.

This is just a follow up on my original post in case it may be useful to anyone in the future. I did get the Trollmaster installed, but it took some creative license with the installation to get it right on this engine (1981 Honda BF75LA).

Zip ties to the rescue. Tested it out today and it worked great.

Very nice install. The cable ties may loosen with use, but you can attach the servo with screws.
