IS and Sisters 7/19

Post by flyguy »

Tried the North in the IS this morning. Marking but no catching. Probe said the surface temp (73) was steady to 40' and not much change until 68' (57). Only down to 55 at 85', and couldn't get a signal below that. Soo...we tried out by the sisters, between the sailboats on the steep gradient. 54 temp at 50' and 57! at 65' Marking at from 45 to 110 in 140'. Finally got with a program of silver and green (also blue/white honeybee) at 90 in 140 back 50 and got lakers...slow but steady. Better south nearer the ferry. All but one with lampreys (all sliced, diced, and fed back). Nothing remarkable, but plenty of takers. No silver today. Also tried white and green and even chartreuse with no luck, one on the reliable copper mooseluck. Maybe could have done better with cowbells or flashers, but didn't try them, as we were catching some fish. The lakers all seemed to be full of alewives. I'll try more white next time, if I go back.
