Went out this morning with my brother-in-law and my neighbor (forum member dw61) chasing after lake trout. I had never targeted them through the ice so we rigged tipups with 12lb fluoro leaders, smaller octopus hooks and medium shiners. The wind was pretty rough all morning, so we only lasted about 3 hours. Got a few wind flags and then hooked in to a nice 32" laker. I thought it was something small because it didn't fight much at all but I got pretty excited when I had to squeeze it through an 8" hole. Couple of pictures and back down the hole, hopefully I can catch it again next weekend!

Nice one Joe!

Thanks all, hoping to try again this weekend with better weather.

Nice fish Joe! It all paid off for being out in that nasty wind! There are some big ones out there and really neat when they strip the line off your spool when the take the bait! Good luck this coming weekend!
