Monday Madness aboard the Crazy Ivan!
Headed out of Converse this morning with Deano behind the wheel and Todd and myself running the spread. Well we didn't get any rest in the back of the boat as it was just absolute chaos once we got them dialed in! Multiple doubles, a few triples and they were all nice fat 4-5lb fish. In the mix of all this madness my outside rod pops and another battle is on... This fish is screaming line and pulling hard! After an intense battle with a few jumps and some good runs I get this big silver to the back of the boat where Todd gracefully slips the net under him! Great day to be on the water and the bite was ON! We lost count but put over 30 fish in the boat! The big one ended up weighing 7.96lbs. Thanks again Todd for having me aboard and all the laughs! And Deano for driving us around!

Ya know.... There is nothing better than seeing a 8 lb salmon break the water 150 ft behind the boat and hear everyone on the boat say at the exact same time " OH MY GOD IT'S A MONSTER". Great job handling that fish Chad. Congratulations. FYI Dean did a suburb job handling the boat in dead flat condintions while we landed that fish...lol. Thanks again Dean for piloting through another fantastic day on lake Champlain.

What a beautiful fish! Looks like a post spawn hen. Sounds like it's back on fire down there.
Side note:
Received my Great Lakes December / January copy yesterday. Read the article on "Winter games: Trolling for Steelhead" on page 48. Many parallels with our frostbite fishing down 70-80 feet and as deep as 100 feet and how the weather / wind affects the offshore fishery in Winter on lake Michigan.

I think I want Dean as a partner in the DYP in the Spring. He can drive. Digitroll can say what he wants to about the grandness of autopilot, but Dean's been on fire! Sounds like he had some pretty good help on deck too...

Excellant fish! I've had a few lately see the boat and say goodbye. I think the big ones are getting so much bigger and stronger that they're hard to land.
In other words - good job landing that pig!

Great to see you guys out there! Nice fish.
I still can't believe all the fish are down so deep.
