Fishing 11/20-11/22

Post by FATHEAD »

Well after a long summer of work and a three month battle with health issues which are still ongoing I finally got back on the water. Haven't been fishing since the LCI. About 3 months ago I developed some serious headaches and a lot of muscle and joint pain. Well after many trips to hospital and doctors they figured out I have occipital neuralgia and severe arthritis in my neck and spine and some other unknown health problems. It has been a battle seeing how my work is limited to the summer months but I am starting to feel somewhat better with a nerve block for the headaches and some arthritis medicine for muscle and joint pain but anyways now to the good stuff.

11/20 Fished with Tucker aboard the Fathead 4 downrigger spread with fixed cheaters 66-85 down good northwest wind 2 foot waves. Fish were few and far between after big blow the previous 2 days . We did manage to get 9 salmon 3 lakers. Tucker drove the boat the whole time and did well ok lol. Pink and green were the hot colors.Off water at 11

11/21 Fished solo in a good Southeast wind . 2 downriggers with fixed cheaters. Bite was better boating 18 salmon and just 1 laker. 66-95 down pink and green again was very good along with CI munchkin and green mountain boy. Off water at 11.

11/22 Fished with Tucker again today aboard the Fathead. All 3 days we started fishing at 6 am . Today I was feeling the effects of 2 days fishing in rough water. We set up 4 downrigger spread with fixed cheaters. Almost had Tucker bring me in as I was feeling real bad. But first light and all 4 rods go off and 6 fish on first pass. Well I feel a little better now. It went on like this till about 9 am and we continued to put doubles, triples and fish in the boat every pass. We boated 46 salmon a great morning. Hot colors were pink and green green mountain boy minkler Vances rainbow and watermelon and old style rainbow hi tech 59-95 down. Awesome day. Thanks for putting up with me Tucker

No real pigs in the 3 days but some nice 4-5 pounders and a lot of them. Nice seeing everyone out fishing and looking out for me. I am back to work for 3 weeks then work is done and I can fish again. Good luck to all that venture out and be safe. FISH ON!!!!!!!

Jeremy - it was good chatting with everyone the last few days and good to see you on the mend! Looks like some chilly temps rolling in to hopefully jump start the bite above 95 feet!

Good to hear you're getting back on track Jeremy! Doesnt look like you got very rusty during your time off. Keep mending and hope to see you on the water later this season.
