how could that fish be 33inches long and weigh 29lbs, the info must have been put in wrong, it looks like a nice fish in the picture but I do not believe it looks anywhere near 29lbs. I emailed the guy that does the entries about it so i'll post an update

Phil B's Rotary winning Laker was 33" 17lbs. Hard to imagine a fish fatter than that. Especially with another 12lbs hanging off it's bones!

Great fish after looking at it. If I had to guess I would say the length is wrong. It looks closer to 40 inches and about 20 lbs. Congrats to the guy on a great catch regardless.

the Laker we caught a few years ago that was 17.95 was 36 inches with a 22inch girth and the Obe caught that was 18.96 was 35 inches with a 23 1/2 in girth so something is wrong there

I didn't realize they were there, either, but I found this report -- http://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/librar ... l_2004.pdf -- assessing the impact of alewives in Lake St. Catherine which says the lake was being stocked with lakers (and rainbows) at least as recently as 2002. A fish this big would certainly be a survivor from those days, if not from even further back.

Lakers have not been stocked in Lake St. Catherine for over 10 yrs. There are still a few caught every now and then, normally big ones! There are some HOG browns in there though. Once again, small lake, and very tough to figure out.
