Great action is an understatement! Well done. Where do you launch out there. I did a charter on Cayuga with a guide who has vertical jigged kings and really want to give it a shot.

Unicorn Monday in 20-30 mph SW winds day 3 at the Bar fishing the LOC! We had a plan before we left Vermont to bring the Offshore Inline boards and the light gear we use on Landlocks back on Champlain. After 1.5 days the winds from the SW blew hard and our plan was to start at the mouth and troll east 4-6 miles in 25-35 fow to Wilson with the waves. We hit 4 species in the 4 hours till 11:00 am..LT/Atlantic/Brown/King! This Unicorn was very special taping out at 30.5" and a little over 10 lbs. We released it after reviving in the live well for 20 minutes. Here is the entire video segment edited of the experience in the comments :

One of the traditions we have every year here at the Bar is getting our fleet in one place for a one time BBQ here where we stay at the cabins on the shore.

Day 4 "At the Bar" we faced similar SW winds (15-25) as yesterday and did our 20-35 fow of water troll from the fort to better than half way to Wilson. After two hours we said uncle after a coho and a brown and joined our buddies out in the white water off the Bar. Landed 5 salmon in 45 minutes. Lull for a few hours then lights out for an hour with triples / quad's / doubles from 1-3 pm. Finished with 22 and one nice 14 lb salmon pictured below. It's been a great 4 days and Carbon 14 Moonshine was the hot ticket today 50-74 ft down. Maybe 10 boats out today and our buddies made up half of them. Did see Reel Excitement and another tag along smaller Tiera boat with him that looked like a charter.

We launch near the Coast Guard station in Youngstown at the mouth of the river Ships! Others launch out of Wilson to the East and further Olcott.. 3 great ports and 3 great options!

Day 5 Summary of 7 days here at the Bar:

Started at 6 am set up and fished till 3 pm. 55 Kings landed 3 LT 2 Coho and over 80 bites! Easily our best day ever for Salmon on Lake Ontario in 42 years! 3 pm neither of us wanted to reel in another salmon.

Here is a demo video of the Fish USA net we used on the kings:

Carbon 14's by Moonshine was our hot lure this am on all 6 rods:

Day 6: We left off where we finished yesterday! The bite was fast and furious at times and we finished off the day with 45 salmon for a two day total of 100 for two licenses. (All released). Today Flasher Flies and Deep Rig Tackle fake meat worked well for us along with our mag spoons was a 50/50 mix. 40-50 was great on the spoons and 60-75 on the Flashers and Meat. Traffic increased today with steady boat traffic but lots of room in deep water and up against the Bar as it didn't really matter as the bite was on for everyone! Basically pick your poison for tackle.... Lots of hungry fish! I call it a Daredevil Bite!

Last day May 8th: Fished 5:20 am to 5:20 pm. Had a lot of dropsies and missed fish off the initial bite! Scratched out 22 salmon and a nice 14 lb salmon and a 15 lb Lake Trout. Really amazed how hard these fish were hooked this week and it took a lot of effort to dehook them on the transom in the net to release them with all three points buried in 80% of them. We didn't get any big big fish this week with 3 weighing 14 lbs but it was a lot of fun catching a ton of salmon!

Final numbers: 180 Kings / 5 Coho / 7 LT / 2 Browns / 1 Huge Atlantic. 3 biggest Kings 14 lbs. 3 LT 13-15 lbs.. (All Released)

A couple nice fish we caught the last day. 14 lb King / 15 lb LT and the 30.5" Atlantic from 3 days earlier that weighed slightly over 10 lbs.

Thanks Raz / Jason!
