Hello all,
I am new to the fishing chat and figured since I am out on the water salmon fishing that I would give it a go! Just picked up airbrushing spoons and other baits so we’ll see how that goes! We fished the LCI all three days. Started Saturday morning out of mallets bay and started fishing around 5 am at robinsons, we picked up a few short salmon and then around 7 o’clock we landed a really nice 4 and change 20.5 incher on lead core 7 colors back. Temp was 55 down anywhere from 40-50 feet with the surface temp being 61-64. Day 2 we went to the inland sea and picked up quite a few shorts anywhere from 20-40 feet down over 90-100 FOW , mainly catching all fish on cheaters. Nothing to write home about in the sea. So for Monday we figured we would head back out to outer mallets bay and to no surprise dropping our first rigger down to 40 feet with a blue moon crazy Ivan we landed our first fish at 530. We trolled for a little while more and had a few more releases and then when 7 o’clock hit we had another rigger pop and to big surprise was a nice 5-5.5 lb salmon launching out of the water on the cheater. Fun fight, beautiful fish! We fought hard all weekend just couldn’t seem to find that big one! 12 hours Saturday, 12 Sunday and 10 Monday! Wasn’t short of trying every color pattern and depth of water. Anyways hope everyone had a great weekend and congratulations to everyone who placed. Tight lines my friends!
