Hi Vermont Salmon Anglers,
I'll be at Apple Island Marina (John Guilmette Access) on Friday and Saturday (April 18-19) collecting samples for our Inland Sea research. We still need 8 more salmon from the Inland Sea to reach our goal of 15 fish.
Collection Details:
- Location: Apple Island Marina (Inland Sea)
Dates: Friday & Saturday (April 18-19)
Time: Starting around 11am both days
If you're fishing in the area and catch salmon, please consider donating them to our research! Your contributions are vital to understanding Atlantic Salmon diet in Lake Champlain. Please remember to keep the fish alive as long as possible if you are donating the stomach. If the fish dies, please put the fish on ice. The fish can still be used but needs to be kept fresh (i.e., the gills still have a red color and the skin still has it's natural color). Ideally, we collect the sample as soon as possible, but as long as the fish is kept very cold, it can still be used.
If you have multiple fish or questions, don't hesitate to contact me:
Thank you to everyone who has already contributed to our study. We've collected 17 salmon so far (10 from Main Lake, 7 from Inland Sea), and we're getting closer to our overall goal of 30 fish for April!
