Anyone have an 40-UP tip ups gathering dust anywhere ?? I am trying to outfit my grandsons for hardwater

We have a forecast over here for a couple of days not to rise outta the teen temps

So...
On the subject of ice fishing
I have always been curious about that big flat area just South of Sloop Island. But does that even ever freeze?
Or even a little further inside around Picket?
Any thoughts or experiences?
Will even take outright laughter for an answer.
