Generally speaking, it was a year to forget for us, mother nature did not cooperate well, and when she did, the fish didn't. While we boated a few nice fish, and the company and dining was fantastic...the fishing was sub-par......ie.....It's not on yet.....The fish that were caught were full of gobies, and insects.....zero smelt, zero alewives.....The birds were not inside working all week, there was simple no bait there(or not much), and alot of very cold water....34-36 degrees the first 3 days(fri-Sun), it warmed up Mon and Tues, but was unfishable Tuesday for the most part.....The boys in the sportsman landed some nice fish after we left(and a few while we were there), I fished with them a couple days, and I think our best day was 4 fish. SLOW........I think the next couple weeks it should pick up considerably, and I heard of a couple kings caught about 15 miles West of us...Had a great time with the crew as always......Looking forward to getting back over there....sooner than later I hope.......

Welcome back. April can be cruel with wind and cold water some years. You caught some fine fish for your effort. Well done considering the conditions. Thanks for your well written report.

Our 4 boat crew was supposed to head out there Thursday, all but one 2 man crew cancelled due to questionable weather. Have not heard how they are doing yet. Sounds like you did pretty well for the conditions. Can't wait to get out there!
