Salmon and Laker Report

Post by KJ Louise »

How's the fishing? I haven't seen any reports yet this season?

Finally got out here in NH on Winni, beautiful weather decent fishing so far. Water is very cold still. 40 on top and 37 3' feet down. Brrr.

How much of Winni was open?? Where did you launch. My buddy in Derry is Jonesing to go and I talked to him today and he said lake was still iced in.

I launched from Alton Bay, I'm very surprised they haven't called official ice out yet....didn't find any ice anywhere!!! I fished from Alton bay to the north side of Diamond island. Basically a straight shot out with a few whoopsies due to fish. My new Chamberlains releases were awesome...fly rods with live bait (smelt) were the hot ticket though. Tip sinking was key. Marked lots and lots of bait just past black point all on the top and floating down.

Have you checked our Fishing Reports section Steve? There have been reports coming in. The fish have started biting and it will only get better from here on out.
Check the reports at http://www.lakechamplainunited.com/foru ... um.php?f=4.
Catch and serve with lemon.
