Inland Sea Tuesday heatwave

Launched in the southern inland sea with Mistress and Crayfish at 1st light to see if any salmon wanted to play post the busy derby weekend.
We were greated with flat water and 61-68 deg surface temps. Salmon were active, especially on purple spoons with copper backs.
Thermocline in front of the sandbar drop was at 35 down where we saw 55 deg water. By the time you got north of Savage the thermocline had dropped all the way to 60fow… cold water make up south due to the south wind seige very evident yesterday.
Best bite was 15-40 down, deeper the higher the sun went. There was some bait, just not the volume we see south around Westport. All
Salmon jumped, and we saw 2 smolts. NO lamprey;)
BBQ only included cheese burgers. The marinated Venny loin and hot dogs stayed in the cooler cause by noon we couldn’t even muster the thought of lighting the grill…
Thanks for a great day of stories and fishing fun guys! 9 hrs went by in a blink:)
Fish on!
