Eclipse Salmon

Post by Mistress »

I took part of the day off to take my wife and Mistress out on Champlain to catch a few salmon and check out the eclipse. My lady being a fair weather mate we launched a little before 10 when it warmed up a bit which was fine by me because it meant I had my I.T. person aboard who doubles as my good luck charm.
Once we pulled away from the dock I used voice command for my fish finder “Melissa, where are the fish biting?” and got an immediate response “Up in the inner bay by the creme colored camp with the redrock seawall”. We got up on plane and five minutes later were setting lines. Within fifteen minutes I caught this decent 20” super healthy and clean salmon along with 2 other smaller ones the following hour or so. The bite completely shut off around noon where we started but the lake was flat calm and it was one of those days I decided to just troll until we found action, which we did. For 5 hours and 12 miles and notta, but the eclipse was incredible and once in a lifetime experience and to be able to troll through the whole event was a win in my book😎
Another phenomenal day on the water and glad to have my warmer weather mate back in play!

That's a great way to watch the eclipse.
That was a spectacular event that will only happen once in our lifetime.

The eclipse was definitely a once in a lifetime for most and to be able to fish through it made it even more special. I had hopes it might have triggered some sort of hot bite which it did, just not what I wanted, MOSQUITOES!!🤣
To happen to have been out in front of your fireworks was a bonus and here is another clip of your show😎
