What a difference a year makes! Fished all 12 months this past year. Our legal salmon catch was 3:1 over 2022. 95% non clipped fish and lots of samples we took for the USFW for their 18 experiments DNA. Weather with wind and precipitation kept us off the water late October thru December. Just 4 trips in November including the Shoot Out and 1 trip December 8th. The good news: Lot of smolts 14-15" being taken. Haven't seen this in 5-6 years. Hopefully some of those 18-20" we were catching last March-April will show up as 4-5 lb salmon this March and April! Nothing huge this year with the better fish coming in at 4-5.5 lbs. I think we lost a few looked 6 lbs. plus.
Lake Ontario: Off the charts awesome! Huge number of Kings! Two trips totaling 13 days as we got out every day and scored double digits every outing on salmon. In addition some very nice Steelhead on our summer trip up to 10 lbs.

2024 salmon numbers on Ontario is very healthy! Added a third trip for this upcoming year! Big bang for the buck! As our fishery here continues to recover.
