Last Wednesday my old man caught this smallie right off the back of his boat at the Burlington waterfront. My brother weighed it for him with a digital scale and read at out loud, " It's only 2.3". So, back in the lake it went. Well they both realized a few minutes later that the scale was reading in kilograms making that fish just north of 5 American pounds.
BTW my dad is registered in the LCI Basin derby which (according to the most recent standings) would have gotten him second place if it weren't for that darn metric system.

Re: Darn metric system
I don't know for sure, nice bass, but I doubt it was 5lbs. Photo perspectives are weird, and we'll never know. I hate raining on parades ... but a 5 lb smallie would carry more mass!

2.3 kg equals 5.070632 lbs that is a awesome fish. I agree pick one standard and everyone use it would be alot easier in the long run.
