Fleas in the broad lake?
Have not fished the main lake in weeks. Does anyone have a flea update? Are they still bad and do I need to bring the rods with 30lb test?
Don’t have high hopes for Monday, but sometimes Sept salmon are huge!
Fish on.

I went in at Westport 3 hours ago and the fleas are terrible around Barber Point if that helps. I did not know they were this bad and will probably be headed back momentarily as I did not switch my lines out.

I fished between Schuyler Island and the reef and did not pick up any fleas , but we fished Willsboro Bay today and they are starting to show up again. We boated six and released one yesterday day including three 24 “ and a fat 28 incher with a 15 inch girth . Today in the Bay we had the pleasure of an eight year old for his first big outing and he caught a nice 25 “ laker . I think he’s hooked!

The story of the 8 year old warms my heart. We are gonna try our luck Monday and see what kinda bite we can find.
Thanks for the input!

Re: Fleas in the broad lake?
Today we started out in the Inland Sea and went 18 perch to one barely legal salmon. Picked up and motored north and through the Gut to fish the west side and fished from Sawyer back up and caught one healthy greaser and one 20” salmon. Running 15# mono and NO FLEA fouling either side.
Good luck tomorrow!!
