Fish Hawk VS Depth Raider

Post by Mistress »

After all these years I am considering purchasing an at rigger ball temp and speed sensor, mostly because Lake Ontario can have a serious under current and I would like a more accurate real time speed at depth instead of eyeballing the angle of rigger cables. I have read up on the Fish Hawk and there seems to have been an issue with them at one point, couldn’t find much on the Depth Raider which is about half the money but appears to do the same thing apples for apples. I was curious if anybody had any input on either or if there is another brand that is better?
Thanks for any advice!!

Wired vs Bluetooth. Only go with fishhawk.

I was leaning towards the Fish Hawk X4 and stumbled on the Depth Raider and of course the price got my attention. Some did say the way it reads through the cable can be problematic and the speed sensors should be calibrated frequently as they tend to read slower than actual speed. I figured I would ask someone in the know to justify spending the extra money on my Mistress when I explain it to the wife.
Thanks Matt!!
