DYP Drawing Results: The Teams Are Set!

Ok, the results are in for the 2023 DYP Drawing. I'm going to describe the method below how they were drawn, as well as the final results at the end. I used the same method that I use in the fall when choosing teams for our in house Bass Tournaments on the Vergennes Fishing Team.
First a card is assigned to each Boat, and a card is assigned to each angler who is not bringing a boat.
Next, the cards are all flipped face down, sorted into two piles, boats, and non boats. I shuffled one pile, and Liam shuffled the other pile. We then switched stacks, and reshuffled. Then the boat stack was dealt face down, and then the angler stack was dealt on top.
Upon flipping each pair of cards over, the teams were revealed.
It is important to note that this process could only be done once, to avoid any bias or do overs. So the first dealing of the cards was the final. You will also see that my boat, the Country Angler was in the drawing as well. That was to even the number of entrants with boats out to the number of non boat entrants. In other words, we needed 5 boats for the 5 non boat anglers who signed up. My family boat now has a drawn partner, but like other family boats with more than 2 people, we will still only run 4 rods at a time, to keep the playing field even for everybody.
So, there you have it, the 2023 LCU DYP Teams are set as follows:
Country Angler:
(Family Team/Drawn Partner Team)
Detritus
Liam
VT2U
(Drawn Partner Team)
Striper192001
LarryDailey
(Drawn Partner Team)
Crayfish
Voyager
(Drawn Partner Team)
Reelax
Scrumj
(Drawn Partner Team)
Homewrecker
AvgJoe
(Family Team)
Dilly Worm
Basscatcher
(Family Team)
AmFishfil Thinking
Kevin
Lloyd
Lea
There will be a nice trophy once again presented to the youth angler with the biggest salmon in their category to be taken home and kept permanently. Adults will have their names engraved on the revolving plaque as in all of the other years that the tournament has been held.
I would suggest exchanging contact info with your partners through PM, and maybe even getting out on the water this weekend if your schedules allow. Sunday looks like a killer day to be trolling. If that does not work, PM me, and I will send you your partners phone number.
Bring some food,
Bring some fun,
And,
FISH ON!!
