Fished on Saturday at 1st light with Gecha and Tunamas. It has been over 2 years since Gerry has been aboard Reelax due to the Covid restrictions from Canada. It was good to finally get an old friend back in lake Champlain to chase some fish. We launched at 1st light with only 1 other trailer in the launch.
After motoring to our start location we setup 4 riggers a slide diver off port with 30 back and 25 down. 6th rod was a 4 color long line off starboard. Riggers were a mix of tight to small blades and 50ft back off bare balls.
Surface temps started out at 57 on surface and 54 down about 25. We started picking away at fish mixed in with a couple years worth of stories.
Sausage gravy milkshake was best spoon, but others fired throughout the day.
Menu included seasoned lamb picante sausage served on fresh croissants from Montreal. That was followed by a rack of BBQ’d pork ribs, 3rd course was rosemary marinated and old bay rubbed pork tenderloin. The water Mellon helped counter act the sun and kept us trolling past 230pm.
Been seeing some really small salmon mixed in the last few weeks. Will bode well for next year. They are the size of smelt taking a full size crazy Ivan… little ravenous buggers
We covered almost 40miles in 8hrs of fishing, with counter well into double digits and the traffic getting heavy on the lake we called it..
Great day guys, thanks for the good times!
Fish on..

When I got out on the water yesterday morning, you were the first of many friends heard throughout the day on the VHF. I didn't know Gerry was aboard, or else we would have taken a ride out to say Hi. Strike Three has a 3 foot wire antenna on it, it doesn't transmit very well, or else we would have probably figured that out and been over. Since we missed it, Hi Gerry.

I heard you a few times on the radio but you were too far for us to join you..... Will have another chance to meet this fall when I move back from Ocean City this summer. Sure wants to go back on Reelax as soon as I can.
I had a GREAT time fishing with Matt and Scott. Lots of friendly memories discussed between tight lines, and as usual, always plenty of good food.
Many bent rods during this trip. Always fun to find out what's on the end of the line. Wish I could show you what's cooking... it was too good... Just before getting back, Matt's thanking the gods for such a beautiful day Thanks a lot for inviting me on your incredible fishing machine, with such great company.

Can never decide what is best - the fishing or the menu!
You guys are amazing and friendships last regardless of the pandemic we face. Great job.
