9 lb Walleye

Post by Detritus »

Well, it wasn't really a walleye. But it was 9lbs. Jigging a night crawler out with Liam the other day.

Jack - Nice catch! Bumping night crawlers this time of year could catch any species in the lake. Sorry it wasn't as tasty as walleye, but I bet it was fun on a light jigging stick in the current!

Yeah those guys are fun to catch. But, I got to say, watching a little kid fight fish like that is way more fun. When the strength of the fish and strength of the kid is about even, it's an absolute riot.

Scott, you're right, it's a fun time of the year for sure. Just picked up some more blade baits at Dattillio's yesterday.

This one was 27", 10.34 lbs. You can see one of the new rod holders I just put on strike three. Nice to have, since we didn't have any before.

Love it!

Those things are pretty cool. I've only caught one, but I thought I had the state record walleye on when I set the hook!

This one was a silver and red sonar on the troll. Forgot to mention that. First master angler fish of the year for Liam.

We saw a sturgeon surface right next to the boat and swim back down on Sunday too. Maybe 32-34" fish. That was cool.
