Outer Banks in April
Heading to the outer banks for some well deserved PTO. My boys and I are wanting to surf fish while there. Not sure of what to bring for gear so very open to suggestions. All for fun and trying something new!
Re: Outer Banks in April
April should be drum season, both reds and blacks. Probably blues and maybe sierra. Pompano won't likely be in yet, but you might run into the end of the sea trout run. Kingfish should be around in the surf too. And sharks and rays! The OBX are a vast expanse ... where are you headed? We're headed down later, Duck in the last week of June! I haven't been to OBX since a Jeep escapade with my college girlfriend (now wife) and we hit the bluefish hard in March while poaching camp sites and eating at the few restaurants open that early in the season! I ended up with a HUGE citation bluefish on a chrome krokodile!
