Cold hot cold day outta a skinny Converse

Post by Reelax »

Hit converse with Homewrecker and Dreamcatcher before 1st light in Sunday for a cruise with a full cooler of BBQ items to last us a long day..... we started in front of the bouquet on some sweet looking bait profiles and stared picking away at Lakers with our deep water salmon set right off... by 10am our counter was in double digits and we had already eaten baked pretzels with mustard for breakfast.....

With Dean and Ken driving I could just sit back and watch cause they are both seasoned trollers who love to drive and find fish.... 8-)

We decided to switch to a warm water program to see what would bite with the big mast and otter boards and stick
Baits with a wide spread shallow... right off we started picking away at a bite of small mouth and pike... the bbq was lit a few times and the radio chatter with Controlled Caos up from NH kept us busy most of the day...

The rest of the days menu consisted of bacon wrapped scallops and some Cajun grouper Deano made up that was amazing!!! We ended the day with some Adams turkey farm wings with Theresa’s hot Sauce made with fresh peppers from the garden last week...They were so
Good we shared them with the crew of Controlled Caos seeing as they had a 3 hr drive home ahead of them....

Toward the end of the day we setup for cold water fish again, in the 1st ever time I have ever swapped back to a totally different set 3* in one day... we worked the gear hard on a long day covering 35+ water miles and 8hrs...

Mixing time up in the archery woods and on the lake makes this one of the best times of the year...

Thanks guys for the good time....and memories....

P.s. my boat had a foot of water to spare of in converse with a full crew and 3 coolers... probably didn’t even need to launch with the empty tank.

Fish on!

You guys should start a cooking show on the boat! Everything looks delicious. And some nice fish too!

We touched down at converse round 8am, launched into pretty shallow water but were able to squeeze thru the shallows slowly... headed straight over to cannon point and set up riggers , leadcore and two mini divers, wasn’t long and we had two lakers in the box, there were a few boats
Working the same area so we headed north to the bouquet and as soon as I got the leascore out a mini diver fires and it’s a 18” salmon woohoo!! Set it back and soon a rigged fires and it’s a small salmon released safely... ended up with 4 lakers and three salmon... all our fish were caught
Between 25-35 feet down honey bee mp6 PPE caught the bigger salmon and one lake trout the others were caught on a crazy Ivan SGM
And crazy ivan blue moon ...We did have one silver in the 4lb range launch outah the water and throw the hook . .. all in all it was a great day with a fantastic crew and great food ! Thanks for the wings Matt! They definitely are the best I’ve ever had! Great to see y’all out there and great chattn! We Will be back up next weekend to chase some more silvers

I'm not sure if the reelax boat is for fishing anymore I think it's a cooking show. Anyhow where did homewrecker get the grouper price chopper? Love grouper . One day I hope to be able to get back in a boat just to eat like that.

That sounds awesome. Haha Adams is the good stuff!
CC thanks for the depth numbers. I’ve been targeting walleye this summer in the kayak but I think it’s time for salmon again!
