Thanks Fred.

One requirement: Your Mercury motor must be fuel injected and smart craft compatible.

Thanks for the presentation Ron.
I purchased a troll control unit this winter and can't wait to install on my boat next month.
I hope to be able to control my trolling speed on my Optimax.

I'm i wrong or right, here's my question :

I have the feeling that what it does, it doesn't really lower your idle but you can get it higher a bit. I guest, when you have your engine on, the idle is at 600 rpm. So, you can't lower it with the trolling option? Maybe a bit but what is the idle when you don't have the trolling option? The lower we can go is 575 RPM. I guest that without the engine trolling, you will be at 650 ????

The problem is that a 150 at 600 rpm on a 19 foot aluminum boat, goes 2.5 mph witch is a bit to fast for walleye.

Hi Claude,

idle for this engine is 650 rpms in nuetral. Putting it in gear at idle you can activate the troll control. You can lower it to 550 rpm's or raise it to 1000 rpm's 10 rpm's at a time.

My 115 hp could troll down to 2.2 or 2.3 with a 15 pitch prop on my former 19 ft boat with calm water and no waves. If I wanted to troll slower than that I would use the Amish Outfitter Beefy Bags 19". They could get me down to 1.5 mph. Idle is 700 rpm with this motor.

With the 150 hp. I have collected data showing it to troll down to 2.3 at 650 rpm idle in calm water. Bags for the rare time I am fishing cold water in the Spring below 40 degrees to slow down to 2.0 mph.

We fish for salmon between 2.3 and 3.0 mph. If your fishing lakers or walleye at 2 mph or below a trolling plate from Cabelas or trolling bags will do an excellent job to slow you down.

Hope this answers your questions. It works marvelous! Especially in waves which most of the time we are fishing in and having the drag of 4 riggers in the water and slide divers also help slow it down a bit as well.

trolling plates work awesome. with that said bags and plate claude you should be able to get very low speed even .8-1.0 perfect bottom bouncing speed for eyes

I have fished several years with Ron and have been overly impressed with how this works. a great tool and it truly enables precision trolling. an awesome tool.

Thank's :)

I'm about to buy a new boat next year and i will give a shot of this system. I would like to buy the Lund Tyee 1900. I would like to have it with a 200 hp Verado and a 15hp kicker.

Can't wait, but still have a year to fish with my 176 Pincecraft.
