Traci and I did mostly warm water fishing for the LCI. We did manage to try for salmon on Saturday and Sunday evening and was surprised to find the Salmon bite very aggressive. The timing was key. The best time was 7 to 8 PM We fished 2 riggers with cheaters. The fish hawk was set at 48 ft over 110 fow the temp was 53 degrees 2.2 to 2.5 was the speed also the best bite was when we were going south. Once the rigger fired the Salmon were out of the water trying to shake the spoon free and most did. They started to take the paint off one of my Honeybee spoon. No big ones but 10 salmon in 6 hours was very good for us. Traci well post a pic of the spoons we used.

I often think we are missing half the bite by starting at daybreak and only making it to 2 or 3pm...!

Also
Think
It’s
Time
To start putting the number ones out more.

Thanks for the looks..

All too often anglers will say that a particular bait will not catch fish anymore. But I think Don proved that baits that are pulled properly will continue to catch fish. It is not the fish that change , but rather the anglers.

Also, it wasn't long ago that Don was bemoaning lack of skill, but I'd say he has come a long ways based on his report. Lot of detail and good practices! IMO ... a little more speed will result in more hookups that get to the net. Great job Don!
