My last few weeks have lived up to the "mostly fishless" title, as I've been targeting walleye for the first time. I've been out chasing walleyes almost every day, except a few days when I washed off the skunk with pre-spawn crappies.

I think I'm getting better at walleye fishing-- I only lost 3 jigs today!
:D

I did catch one walleye a few days back, 24". My first keeper walleye! On a jig with a swimbait.
Hey bootstrap if you read this, it bit just after you left to grill steaks. Thanks for the coaching.

Caught some lakers in the mudline of a river in the lake. Many smallmouth everywhere, always. Some big sheephead that were definitely not walleye. Caught stockie browns on an inland lake but no biggies.

Crappies were fixing to spawn in a couple spots, but probably weren't yet. That was a few days ago , and the temp was right on the cusp, so I bet they are by now.

I broke my rudder yesterday evening, putting in on the Winooski. I managed to rig it up with some rope to keep me going, but it makes things more difficult until the parts arrive.

Tomorrow I will catch a walleye. 100% chance of walleye.
