I just wanted to see how happy people are with the unit. From everything ive seen and read about, these units stand alone at the top. How do you like yours? You wouldn't happen to have yours setup for structure scan?

I'm entirely satisfied with mine HDS5 & HDS10 link by ethernet and I do have the LSS2 HD side-scan & downscan

How is the structure scan clarity in water over 30 feet? whats the deepest water youve tried it in?

The clarity of the water is not a factor that is very important with the structure scan; You can identified rocks over mud in 100ft. of water.
Structure scan has the name says is the perfect tool to really identifie what under and side of you're boat; sidescan takes some time to work with but downscan beside the 2D gives you the perfect picture.
What kind of fishing are you doing?
Here some pics from my screen; the 1st one was the very 1st test, it's in front of the Burlington harbor; there is a sank boat

My main purpose is to locate deep water structure, rock, ledge, etc. Im especially intrested in the structure scan overlay. It looks like an awesome tool to put more fish in the boat! The picture detail and clarity is amazing. thanks for posting those pics. In side scan picture with the wreck in it, are those suspended clumps bait fish or just interference from the motor?
Thx Andre

I didn't remember the exact word for wreck so I use sank boat (old memory)
Suspended fish. I didn't find another one where you were able to see the fish head and tale!!
If you want to take me out to fish some of those nice walleyes I would show you live how it looks!

First generation with structure scan, I am able to see old "spruces" from year 1926 under 30-40 feet of water:
You should not use
StructureScan to watch for fish, but it's interesting to see if the baits you are seeing are 50-90 feet on your right side, or on your left side

I didn't mentionne it because I thought you were also looking for sidescan capability.
The Elite7 with the transducer in 2D and downscan will be a big success for Lowrance. It's a HDS without all the bell and whisle
There is no Ethernet and it does not read the Navionics Platinium
You can also get it with the Insight mapping that may have the lakes that you fish on.

Im specificly looking for the sidescan capability. Particularly the structure overlay ontop of my gps map. Being able to mark specific structure with sidescan and overlay the picture ontop of my navionics chart, and save it for future use is the main reason why i like the HDS. The elite 7 looks like a good unit to.
