Ice Conditions?
Anyone have an updated report on the ice conditions in the island area?? I am hoping to get out this weekend, since I got the "AOKAY" from PT yesterday! Just be careful, and wear my sling..... Oh and no reeling in 30 lb fish or drilling my own holes, good thing I have a great fishing partner!

I received an ice report from Dockside this morning:
We're going to need a bunch of cold weather!
NOT good news."Sandbar went to sh!t, open water all over out there. Be careful on the ice."

Catch and serve with lemon.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will go buy a boat.

Went fishing at the Gut today. As I drove up through the islands I could see everything in the sea was locked up with Ice. Sandbar is fish-able with probably 7 inches of ice. The cowbanks are frozen but I wouldn't venture out there quite yet. The gut had a good 7 inches of ice on it. Fished for about 5 hours with 14 tip ups set for Pike. Ended the day with 5 bass, 3 pickerel, 2 pike and a dozen perch. The perch were small, nothing worth chasing.
If the cold weather keeps up, this weekend there should be 10 inches or so in the bay.
