7/5/2020 headed over for some shore fishing for catfish and bowfins solo this morning. got there at 7:35 am with big fish busting water in the bay. set out 2 cat rods with sunnies on for bait. didnt take long to get a run but noone home. then 20 minutes or so later another run and fish on i land a nice fin. then another run about 8:30 am or so and noone home. then another around 9 am and i lose a nice fin. then at 10 15 am i have a strong run and fish on i land a 30 inch fin. my rapala scale wasnt working so i called my son to come over to see if he could fix it took awhile but he fixed it the fin weighed 9.89 lbs. i have a big cooler my friend keeps there for me so i can keep the fish alive and fresh for release. as we were about to go home i have yet another run and this one is peeling line like no tommorrow closed the bail rod tip went down fish on and a good fish on which i knew was a catfish. after a struggle getting it through heavy cover i land a nice catfish. what a morning in less than 3 hours 5 for 8 all good size fish in less than 4 fow with lily pads milfoil and water chestnuts. cant wait to get back

Great way to spend a day if you aren't planning on keeping what you catch ... warm water fish are less picky and are big enough to give you a real tussle.

7/16 /2020 headed to lincoln pond this morning in search of crappies since fishy2 has never caught one. started fishing at 11 am with one on bottom and another with a bobber. i have fished there in 50 years. didnt take long for fishy2 to catch a bullhead and big for there 7 inches was big years ago
she then started pulling in big sunnies. she had fun but no crappies. 3 bullhead and many sunnies. she wants to to go back she is determined. i would like about 5 more of them bullhead for dinner and fishy2 also. yum

7/22)2020 after summer school alayna wanted me to take her to mark and alitas camp for catfishing but she had a surprise she was going to put a rubber worm on her spinning rod and catch a big bass. I laughed less than a foot of water off there dock hard to too toss a rubber worm to far. Set out 1 cat rod others are at friends camp on bridge road ten minutes later a good run and alayna loses a nice fish. About 11 :20 am alayna yells papa just saw a big bass and it stole my rubber worm. We got there at 10:30 am. Then at 11:50 am I'm watching the cat rod and fishy2 yells papa I have a big bass on I was about 40 feet away sitting in lawn chair. She was screaming I know they heard her at the campsite 3 miles away. No net and she was on the dock ugh. But before I got to her fishy2 reached down and lifted the bass up on the dock. Fishy2 just landed her biggest bass 19 plus inches. In less than a foot of water.took pics and fishy2 says papa I want to eat it. I said you got it. Unreal and the determination she has I guess she gets that from me.ha ha.

7/31/2020 headed to a pond today that holds sunnies perch bass and pike and an invite from a friend to fish on his lawn . Started fishing around 11 am with a worm rod with sinker and other with a bobber. Caught a small perch and put it on the hook with the bobber for pike. 15 minutes later bobber disappears and it never comes back up and snap it breaks me off. Drag was to tight never set it. So back to worms and the big blue gills bite was there very impressive. Bass also not big but fun to catch and eating size . Landed 7 bass and kept 3 for dinner and kept a good mess of gills for dinner 8 and 9 inches.
