12/12/12 with Dreamcatcher and Light and Variable
Hi Guys
I had the pleasure of hosting Ken and Jeff today. We crossed the lake at about 7 in a fairly light South Wind. We set the spread on a recent hot spot with a variety of hot colors of late. 3 hours later we are still trying to chase the skunk off the boat. I look up and the lead with 5 colors and a 2 oz dive bomb(a very productive delivery this fall) fires with a motted green mp6 and surprises us with a nice Brownie. Ok they want green,we can do that. Then it starts snowing. There is nothing quite like trolling in a snow squall. We turn to revisit where we did the Brown and fire double Salmon 19 and 20 inchers in the middle of the snow squall! What a Blast! Green Mtn boy and a fat buzzy. We had consistent action the rest of the day on green at 40 to 55 on the riggers ad the Slidedivers had a very good afternoon with a 4 oz weight and a ring at 150 to 175. The more green we put out the more fish we caught. These fish were aggressively feeding on smelt this afternoon. Their bellies were loaded with smelt and a few Alwives. One laker came in with a fresh lamprey wound and the rest of our fish were fat, clean and happy! They made us work for them today. It was a lot of fun dialing in the program with Ken and Jeff. 2 very good fishermen. Get out while the weather allows the fishing is awesome!
Jeff with a couple of Silvers
Me with a few for the table
Ths Salmon was in the middle of a meal
Nice to see some active fish feeding on smelt!

Thanks Rob for the post and pics... Looks like you had a great time on the water.
Question: Why do you put your downrigger weights in the livewell Shouldn't you keep your fish in there instead of the boat floor
