Productive Saturday

I was supposed to have fished the Shootout with Ice Dawg but I've been chasing a pretty nice buck and did not want to miss a day in the woods. Ended up with this 8 point 165 pounds, not the one I was after but a decent buck just the same.

Great buck! The rut is getting hot hot hot in NY. I missed a beautiful 8 with the bow last wknd (ummm.. shootout wknd). Waited 10 years to have one like him before me and blew it. Gave him a real nice shave. Will be back at it this wknd and next week for the finishing of bow and rifle opener. We are right on the northern/southern zone line. Keep them stacking! Congrats!

A friend dropped a beautiful big rack 11 point 185 lb 4 days later 100 yards from where I took this one. His was with 4 Doe. I hope you all have a safe productive hunting season with friends and family. The best part of the season is upon us and it will be over all too soon!
Sorry to hear about your close call WFW. I have lost plenty of sleep over the years from similar experiences!
