Last fall, when I took my wife fishing during a weekend, I was handling the rods and my wife was "driving" the boat. On both days, she felt asleep at the helm. That was the trigger to get the autopilot

That used to happen every year on my family trip to Lake Huron. My 80 year old father-in-law driving my brother-in-law's 20 ft Starcraft fell asleep every outing at the wheel. Maybe it was the slow fishing we see almost every year there.

Great read, Gerry! Loved hearing the story of success at a time of year where fishing the lake is so slow. Handling an 'active' fish solo - good stuff, good challange, and good win.
