Marknfish and I met up at the Van Everest launch to find we couldn't launch...
too shallow.
We moved south and paid the 4 bills to launch at Apple Island and headed out in seek of Champlain's largest Northern's.
After catching all the pike in bay "X", and breaking a few records along the way (stay tuned to tonight's local new's), we moved on to trolling for white perch in the Sea...
When the weather allows, Champlain is ALWAYS nice to be on! Regardless of success (or lack of).
Thanks Mark!

Well, I was hoping for an inspiring update when I heard last night you 2 were making a trip out today..... I guess it was not to be? Hope the weather holds for tomorrow, I am starting to shake after being off the lake for over a week now.... I am wondering what the Northern Salmon bite is like right now... Hope to find out tomorrow....

So FWIW in the weather department: Is it me or have we had an unusual amount of south winds on Champlain this year? I think I am going to do a Converse launch with my time off tomorrow.Raz wrote:......When the weather allows, Champlain is ALWAYS nice to be on! Regardless of success (or lack of)...

Always a pleasure Gerry, even when the fish don't cooperate. White perch don't count, but you're right the conditions were outstanding.
Think I'll spend the day on the Clyde River tomorrow after some big salmon and smallmouth.

You were on the water having fun while most of us were working.
Glad you had a good time and got some action on the rods.
