was wondering how many people run swr's in their setup? and how much success have you had with them. was talking to a few people on lake ontario last weekend and they do really well with them. so i just bought 2 new setups that i am going to rig up, 1 with 2 colors and 1 with 3 colors. was thinking they would work great here especially this time of year when the salmon are easily spooked.

Re: Running SWR's
I've got a 2 color rod that I run. Not much success this year. I've also got a 3 color set up but actually run that off the surface in spring and fall...I've never run it from a rigger.
Catch and serve with lemon.

what is swr?
I use Lead, I have 3,5,8 color rods all setup for various applications... Although I haven't used one since July (fish are DEEP)....

the secret weapon rod is ran off the downrigger ball, 2 colors will put the lure 10 or so feet underneath the ball.

Re: Running SWR's
rob,
that sounds interesting, but i would think you would have to drop the ball at a very slow pace as to keep the dipsy from spinning around, tangling everything up. and would not work for me as my dipsy rods are all wire.

Re: Running SWR's
i think the guy that was telling me about it was using the big lin or walker type that are real small and could run on a mono down rigger rod
